Nguyễn Tuấn Anh (born May 16, 1995 in the province of Thái Bình ) is a Vietnamese national football player who is used in midfield .

Early years of life

He was born in Mai Trang, An Quý in the Quỳnh Phụ district of the Thái Bình province . His parents are Nguyễn Văn Dung a doctor and Nguyễn Thị Loan . He is the second oldest child in his family. He also has an older sister named Quỳnh Mai. His father is the deputy director of the Phụ Dục General Hospital in the provincial capital of Thái Bình; Quỳnh Phụ. His father wanted his son to be a doctor, but he made it very clear that he loves football more than anything. His family was later persuaded and allowed him to pursue his dream.

At the age of nine he was part of the U-11 team of Thái Bình Province, which in 2004 came second in the national youth football tournament in the province of Khánh Hòa . His achievements attracted the attention of the football talent school in Thái Bình Province, which offered him a place at the school. After living here for seven months, his parents took him back from school because of concerns about the standard of living. Although the school was rated relatively well and really wanted to keep it.

Time at the JMG Academy

In 2007 he successfully passed the elimination for a place at the Hoang Anh Gia Lai - Arsenal JMG Academy . He was one of only 14 players who were finally accepted. In the run-up there were over 7000 candidates from all over Vietnam.

In June 2010, he and Nguyễn Công Phượng were the only two players at the Academy who were invited to a fifteen-day overseas training program in Mali . It was a training program for the best JMG Academy players around the world. During the program, he was highly praised by the director of the Academy, Jean-Marc Guillou.

In November 2012 he received an invitation from Arsenal to train with their U-17 team together with Nguyễn Công Phượng, Lương Xuân Trường and Trần Hữu FCông Triều . In the invitation, Arsenal's performance supervisor Steve Morrow mentions that then coach Arsène Wenger was very impressed that the Academy team beat Arsenal's U-17s in January. At the end of the training Wenger was most taken with him. He even introduced him to a Greek club for a trial session. Unfortunately, due to injury, he missed the opportunity. Due to a serious torn ligament in spring 2012, he needed a break of 6 months. He was sent to Paris to visit a clinic that specializes in knee operations on athletes. In 2014 he was selected as player of the tournament after the International U-21 Thanh Niên Newspaper Cup . In this tournament, his team was also able to win the title after beating the Thai U-21s 3-0 .

Appearances in the first team

In 2015 he joined the team after an almost complete reorganization of the first team of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai , together with other players from the Academy.

He made his debut in V.League 1 on January 4, 2015 in the opening game of the new season against Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN FC . In this game he was also able to score his first goal; the game ended with a 4-2 win for his team. On April 14th, he won the Young Player of the Year Award 2014 with 49 votes, 10 votes more than his team-mate Công Ph bekamn, who came in second. He was also voted the team's best player at the end of the season. This season he also had the most appearances on his team. He was on the pitch in all 26 games of the league season and 25 times right from the start.

Loan to Yokohama FC

In December 2015, he was loaned to Yokohama FC for a season . During this time he had an impressive game against AC Nagano Parceiro in the Kaiser Cup . There he scored a penalty for the team and scored the winning goal to make it 3-2.

National team

U-19

His first appearance for the U-19s was at the AFF U-19 Youth Championship in 2013 . He led the team as captain to the final. There, his team lost on penalties against hosts Indonesia. In this tournament he was again selected as player of the tournament. From 2013 to 2014 he was an important member of the U-19 squad. He played in every competition. In qualifying for the U-19 Asian Football Championship in 2014 , his team won Group F thanks to a surprise victory over Australia. At the AFF U-19 Youth Championship 2014 , his team came second again.

U-23

In March 2015 he was then appointed to the squad for qualifying for the 2016 U-23 Asian Cup . He also played in the opening game in which his team beat Malaysia 2-1. In the group's last game against Macau, he was out due to injury. His team finished second in the group and was able to qualify for the finals . Here he scored a goal against the United Arab Emirates team. Nevertheless, in the end only the last place in the table was possible.

A national team

He made his first appearance for the senior national team on March 24, 2016 in a 4-1 win over Chinese Taipei , where he played up to 72 minutes from the start.
