The 2014 U-19 Asian Football Championship (officially: AFC U-19 Championship 2014 ) was the 38th edition of the tournament and was held in Myanmar from October 9 to 23 . At the same time, the finals served as qualifiers for the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 .
Of the 46 member associations of the AFC, 36 registered to take part. The teams were divided according to their geographical location into the West Group, consisting of West, Central and South Asia, and the East Group, consisting of Southeast and East Asia and Australia. During the draw, the teams were divided into two groups of five teams, five groups of four teams and two groups of three teams. The nine group winners and the six best runners-up qualified for the final round.
The qualification was played between October 3 and October 12, 2013. The following teams qualified for the final round:

Group stage draw
The group draw was held on April 24, 2014 in Yangon . The hosts were set as the group head of the first group, the remaining teams were distributed over the four pots according to their results at the last edition.
The group winners and runners-up qualify for the round of 16, the third and fourth-placed finishers are eliminated from the competition. If two or more teams are tied, the placement is determined by the following criteria:

Goal difference in direct comparison
Number of goals in direct comparison
Number of away goals in direct comparison
If, after applying criteria 1 to 4, two or more teams still occupy the same place in the table, criteria 1 to 4 are only used for the matches between the respective teams. If this does not result in a definitive placement, criteria 6 to 9 will be applied.
Lower number of points through yellow and red cards (yellow card 1 point, yellow-red and red card 3 points, yellow card followed by a direct red card 4 points)
The quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final are played in the knockout system . If the games in the final round are tied after the regular playing time of 90 minutes, there will be two extra times of 15 minutes and possibly (if there is still no winner) a penalty shoot-out .
