The 19th U-19 Asian Football Championship was held in 1977 in Tehran ( Iran ). The tournament started on April 15th and ended on April 28th . Iraq was victorious with a 4-3 victory in the final against the hosts . Both finalists qualified for the 1977 Junior World Championship .

Result
Iraq became Asian champions for the second time. Together with the defeated finalist Iraq, he qualified for the Junior World Championship in 1977 in Tunisia. There, Iraq finished its preliminary group behind the Soviet Union and Paraguay in third place. As a result, the Asian champions were eliminated, as was Iran, who finished their preliminary round in second place behind Brazil .
