The fifth U-19 Asian Football Championship was held in 1963 in Penang , Alor Setar and Taiping in the Malaya Federation . The tournament started on April 18th and ended on April 28th . The winners were Burma and South Korea , as the final had ended in a draw.

The twelve registered teams initially played in two groups of six teams each. The two group winners contested the final, the two group runners-up the game for third place.
