The fourth U-19 Asian Football Championship was held in Bangkok , Thailand , in 1962 . The tournament started on April 14th and ended on April 26th . The hosts became the winner with a 2-1 win in the final against South Korea .

The ten registered teams initially played in two groups of five teams each. If there was a tie in the first two places in each group, a decision game was played. The two group winners contested the final, the two group runners-up the game for third place.
