Nica & Joe is a German-American singing duo . It consists of the German ( born in Poland ) Veronika Belyavskaya and the American Joseph Guyton. In December 2011, the two singers finished third in the German version of the music talent show X Factor .

Career

Veronika Belyavskaya, born in Legnica , completed her vocal and piano studies at the Maastricht Conservatory while Joseph Guyton, born in Ann Arbor ( Michigan ), studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and was also accepted into the Placido Domingo Young Artist Program. The two met in Germany in 2011 and decided without further ado to take part in the second season of the music show X-Factor ( VOX ) together. With juror Sarah Connor as mentor, they competed in the groups category. With a mixture of pop and classical music, they reached the finals on December 6, 2011, in which they took third place behind David Pfeffer and Raffaela Wais . They released their first studio album in the same year and landed in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In summer 2012 they played in the opening act for Sarah Connor. The second studio album Magic Moments was released on November 16, 2012. On February 14, 2013, Nica & Joe took part as candidates in Unser Song für Malmö , the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. They presented the song Elevated with which they ranked 4th. Occupied place. Between February 2013 and summer 2014, the two toured at irregular intervals. On November 28, 2014, her first Christmas single was released under the title It's Christmas . On November 15, 2014, Nica & Joe played their first concert in Joe's hometown of Ann Arbor , Michigan . Her first concert followed on February 17th, 2015 in Beverly Hills , California . Together with Sylvie Meis , Nica & Joe appeared as guests in the Holiday-on-Ice show Believe in 15 German cities from November 2015 to February 2016 .
