Nicholas FS Papanicolaou (* 1949 in Athens ) is a Greek - American entrepreneur .

Life

Papanicolaou attended Williston Academy in Easthampton, MA , graduating Cum Laude in 1967. He then studied economics at Harvard University ( bachelor's degree 1970) and business administration from Columbia University ( master's degree in 1972).

Papanicolaou was Vice President of the Onassis Organization in New York from 1973 to 1975 . He then got involved in his family's entrepreneurial activities related to shipping and other investments. In 1983 he became a major shareholder and board member of Aston Martin . When the company was profitable again, it was sold to Ford .

Papanicolaou is President of Lion Finance SA . He is a member of the American Bureau of Shipping .

Together with others, Papanicolaou founded the World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” (WPF) , which deals with global political, economic and social issues, and is a board member there. In 2006 he received the international Dialogue of Civilizations prize from the Russian Foundation of Saint Andrew the First-Called.

Papanicolaou is a Knight of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem and became a member of the Swedish Freemason Order Amaranth in 2012 .
