In 2008 he tried his luck with America's Got Talent . It was here that the world first became aware of its special physical characteristic. With a length of nine centimeters, it has been proven to have the longest tongue of all Americans and the second longest in the entire world. In public he has therefore received the nickname Tongue Boy (in German: tongue boy). Afanasiev has impressively demonstrated this talent in the talk shows by Jay Leno and Tyra Banks, among others .
