Nicklas Schmidt

Nicklas Schmidt (born March 13, 1976 in Aarhus ) is a Danish composer .

Life

Nicklas Schmidt is the son of an architect. Through his professional contacts in Russia, Schmidt began to learn Russian in his youth, which is why, after successfully studying music at the Det Kongelige Danske Conservatory of Music , he continued studying at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory .

Since the beginning of the 2000s, Schmidt was increasingly responsible for the music of short films and was able to make his debut with a feature film in 2008 with the music for the action comedy Det perfect kup . Since then he has been responsible for the music of documentaries, television series and movies and has been nominated for the Robert Film Prize as best composer for his music for The Great Bear , Redemption and Lucia and Santa Claus .

In addition to his work as a composer, he is also occasionally active as an arranger and orchestrator. In these functions he was responsible for the music of The Discovery of Infinity , composed by Jóhann Jóhannssons .
