Nicolas Vaughan "Nicky" Travis (born March 12, 1987 in Sheffield ) is a former English football player .
Career
Travis started his career at the Sheffield United Youth Academy , but did not make the leap to the professional team afterwards. In August 2007, fourth division FC Chesterfield Borrowed Travis for half a year, but the loan deal ended after two missions and a knee injury in October. With the expiration of his contract with United in the summer of 2009, he moved to the Australian club Central Coast Mariners , which has a partnership with Sheffield, on a free transfer . Travis came in the course of the season under coach Lawrie McKinna to 20 appearances in the A-League and scored three goals when the Mariners finished the season in eighth place in the table and thus missed the play-offs. At the end of the season, the midfielder left the Mariners again.
After his time with the Mariners, he completed a trial training session with the Italian third division club US Siracusa in October 2010 . In 2011 Travis played again briefly in Australia for Heidelberg United in the Victorian Premier League and completed a trial session at New Zealand's A-League club Wellington Phoenix . As a result, he is said to have played for several years in Italy for Siracusa Calcio . In March 2014, he was introduced as a new addition to Worksop Town . In July 2014, he joined Handsworth Parramore in the Northern Counties East Football League , where Alan Quinn and Warren Burrell were other ex-professionals under contract. After seven league goals for Handsworth, Travis moved to Matlock Town in the Northern Premier League in late March 2015 . In December 2016, he joined AFC Shaw Lane , a month later he moved to FC Buxton .
