Nico Ingo Rinderknecht (born October 11, 1997 in Giessen ) is a German soccer player . The defensive midfielder plays for the Hessian regional division FC Gießen .

Career

Rinderknecht began his career at VfB Gießen and then played for TSG Wieseck . In 2011 he switched to the Eintracht Frankfurt youth training center . On December 13, 2015, he was in the first team's squad for the Bundesliga match at Borussia Dortmund and came on as a substitute for David Abraham in the 85th minute of the 1: 4 defeat .

For the 2016/17 season , Rinderknecht moved to FC Ingolstadt 04 , with whom he signed a three-year contract. At the beginning of July 2017, he extended his contract for another three years and was loaned to third division Preußen Münster for the 2017/18 season. There he made his debut in the 2-0 home defeat against FSV Zwickau . He scored his first goal for Münster in the 4-1 win against VfL Osnabrück .

For the season 2018/19 returned Rinderknecht back to Ingolstadt. However, he was only used in the second team in the fourth-class Bavarian regional league . At the beginning of winter preparations, Rinderknecht was sorted out by head coach Jens Keller , who had taken over the team at the beginning of December, and permanently transferred to the second team. In July 2019 he was signed by the Hessian regional league club FC Gießen .
