Nicolas Li Yun Fong (born August 28, 1982 ) is a hammer thrower from Mauritius and his country's current record holder in this discipline.

Athletic career

Nicolas Li Yun Fong gained his first international experience in 1999 at the World Youth Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 54.54 m with a 5 kg hammer. In 2002 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester for the first time , where he finished eighth with 53.13 m, before finishing fifth at the African Championships in Radès with 58.35 m. Also at the 2004 African Championships in Brazzaville he was fifth with a throw of 59.88 m, as well as at the 2006 African Championships in Bambous with 56.98 m. In 2007 he took part in the Africa Games in Algiers for the first time , where he finished sixth with 56.53 m, while he finished fifth at the 2008 African Championships in Addis Ababa with 61.42 m. The following year he reached tenth place at the Francophonie Games in Beirut with 53.85 m.

In 2013 he was ninth at the Francophonie Games in Nice with 55.58 m and in 2015 he won the bronze medal at the Africa Games in Brazzaville with a width of 59.36 m behind the Egyptian Mostafa el-Gamel and Chris Harmse from South Africa. In 2016 he finished fifth at the African Championships in Durban with 58.54 m and in 2019 he finished seventh at the African Games in Rabat with 59.30 m.

In 2004 Li Yun Fong became the Mauritian hammer throw champion.
