Nicolaus Delsor , French: Nicolas Delsor , (born October 5, 1847 in Strasbourg ; † December 20, 1927 there ) was a Catholic clergyman, French senator and member of the German Reichstag for the Alsace-Lorraine Center Party .

Life

Delsor attended the higher middle school of the Marienbrüder from 1854 to 1858, the Episcopal Gymnasium in Strasbourg from 1858 to 1865 and the seminary in Strasbourg from 1865 to 1869. After that he was professor at the Episcopal Gymnasium in Strasbourg from 1869 to 1874, private tutor from 1874 to 1877 and Chaplain in Colmar from 1877 to 1879. He was then pastor in Wahlenheim from 1879 to 1888, in Nordheim from 1888 to 1901 and in Marlenheim from 1901 to 1919. He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the Revue catholique d´Alsace: Nouvelle série . He was also the founder of the magazine “The Alsatian People's Messenger” (Strasbourg).

From 1898 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen 7 ( Molsheim , Erstein ). He was also a member of Chamber II of the Alsace-Lorraine state parliament from 1911 to 1918, elected for the constituency of Molsheim-Wasselnheim.

Between 1920 and 1927 he was also a member of the French Senate . He was a knight of the French Legion of Honor .
