Nicos Apostolidis
Nicos Apostolidis (born June 2, 1950 ) is a German musician , singer and composer of Greek descent. He prefers to play relaxing music on the acoustic guitar .
biography
Apostolidis was born in 1950 as the youngest of 13 children of a Greek family who had emigrated to Romania for several stations while fleeing the unrest of the Greek Civil War in 1949 . He grew up in a valley in the Transylvanian Alps . When he was six years old, his father died, so that he had to take care of the family himself. He earned his living as a porter for mountain tourists. At the age of 14 he secretly took music lessons until his legal guardians forbade him.
Apostolidis then went to boarding school in Bucharest , but broke off school shortly before graduation and emigrated to Germany in 1969 at the age of 19. Here he hired himself first as a street musician in Munich and later in Hamburg . During this time he composed many songs. He made his first public appearance in the Hanseatic city at a benefit concert for the victims of the Greek military dictatorship . On December 4, 1982, he was a guest in Kiel on the television program “ One will win ” and in 1989 Apostolidis founded the record company and distributor Nicos Apostolidis in order to produce his own recordings.
On November 22nd, 2009 the musician celebrated his 40th anniversary on stage. Today he lives and works in Hamburg-Blankenese , where he also gives guitar lessons. He was married to the qualified violin and viola teacher Katharina Apostolidis, who also worked as a violinist, cover designer and lyricist on his CDs . Apostolidis also presents its music at various trade fairs . He has already performed several times in the small hall of the Hamburg Music Hall and is also a frequent guest in the Factory Culture and Communication Center .
