The Lower Sorbian grammar school in Cottbus (abbreviation NSG ; Lower Sorbian Dolnoserbski gymnazium Chóśebuz , abbreviated DSG ) is the only grammar school that teaches in Lower Sorbian . In addition to the Sorbian grammar school in Bautzen , it is one of the two grammar schools in Germany with Sorbian as the language of instruction.

The Lower Sorbian Gymnasium was founded on September 1, 1952 as the Sorbian High School (Serbska wuša šula). On the initiative of Frido Mětšk , 76 students and 8 teachers from Bautzen in Upper Sorbian came to Cottbus. The first year group passed an Upper Sorbian Abitur in 1954. In 1959, the Sorbian High School became the Sorbian Extended High School (Serbska rozšyrjona wuša šula). In 1974 the school was named " Marjana Domaškojc ". Today it should serve to preserve the Lower Sorbian language and culture (often also called Wendish ) in Lusatia . Around 500 high school students in grades 5 to 12 are currently enrolled at the NSG (as of April 2015). The headmistress is Anke Hille-Sickert, who has held this position since summer 2008. Deputy headmaster is Thorsten Drabow.
