Nierembergia browallioides is a plant type from the type of the white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Nierembergia browallioides is an upright plant that reaches heights of 40 cm and has particularly strong branches. The leaves are 16 to 50 mm long, at the base they are about 18 mm wide. The bracts are about 4 mm wide and tapered elliptically.

The flowers are on 0.2 to 4 mm long peduncles . The calyx is 12 to 18 mm long and covered with 5 to 8 mm long, egg-shaped lobes. The calyx is enlarged on the fruit. The crown is bell-shaped and measures 15 to 21 mm in diameter, the corolla tube is 12 to 22 mm long. Inside it is washed out in purple and becomes lighter towards the edge, almost white. There are three short and two long stamens . The stylus is bent upright or slightly and below the wide transverse scar strongly thickened.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence

The species occurs at altitudes between 1700 and 3300 m. It can be found in the northwest of Argentina in the provinces of Salta , Tucumán and Catamarca as well as in Bolivia .
