Nierembergia ericoides is a plant type from the type of the white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Nierembergia ericoides is an upright plant that reaches heights of about 40 cm. The very small leaves are 3 to 4 (rarely up to 8) mm long and 1 to 1.5 mm wide. They are narrowly elliptical and concave towards the rear. They are in clusters in the basal area of ​​the branches.

The flowers are on peduncles 2 to 3 mm long. The calyx is 8 to 11 mm long and covered with 3 to 6 mm long and about 2 mm wide calyx tips. The crown has an approximately 22 mm diameter coronet and a 11 to 13 mm long coronet tube. There are three short and two long stamens . The stigma is enclosed in a crescent shape by the long stamens almost to the level of the anthers.

On the fruit, the goblet is lignified and covered with solid, triangular and pointed fringes.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The species is endemic to the Tandil - Ventania region in the province of Buenos Aires . The locations are at heights between 200 and 900 m.
