Nierembergia pinifolia is a plant type from the type of the white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Nierembergie pinifolia is an upright plant that grows up to 30 cm high. At the base it is branched and also lignified there. The shoots branch only a little further up. There are few flowers at the tips of the shoots . The leaves stand upright, pressed against the stems, they are narrow and very pointed. They become 15 to 22 mm long and 1 to 2 mm wide. The stems, leaves and calyx are hairy glandular.

The flowers are on 0 to 1 mm long pedicels . The calyx is 12 to 13 mm long and has about 2.5 mm long calyx tips. The crown has an approximately 15 mm diameter coronet and a 10 mm long coronet tube. The stamens are more or less the same length, but two have slightly larger anthers. The pollen grains are given off as tetrads. The stylus is straight, the scar is enlarged laterally.

Occurrence

The species is common in the south of Brazil , in Argentina it occurs only in Misiones .
