Niigata Transys KK ( Japanese 新潟 ト ラ ン シ ス 株式会社 , Niigata Toranshisu Kabushiki kaisha ) is a Japanese company that manufactures rail vehicles and snow plows .
history
Niigata Transys was founded in 2003 after the predecessor company KK Niigata Tekkōsho ( 株式会社 新潟 鐵工 所 ) had to file for bankruptcy in 2002. The conglomerate IHI , which at the same time had acquired the rail vehicle division of Fuji Heavy Industries , took over 70% of the ailing company and re-established it as Niigata Transys. The workforce was completely transferred to the new company. On September 1, 2006, IHI acquired the remaining 30% of the shares.
