Nikki Gooley

Nikki Gooley (born in Sydney ) is an Australian makeup artist .

Life

After taking a makeup workshop in high school, Gooley was fascinated by the idea of working as a makeup artist. She went to Fort Street High School with Joy Smithers . Both dreamed of working with the makeup artist Smilka. After graduating from high school, Gooley trained as an artist and then went to Dawn Swane's Three Arts Makeup School.

Her first film was called Unfinished Business , was directed by Bob Ellis and was released in 1985. Since then she has worked as a makeup artist on various films, but also on commercials and music videos.

Gooley lived in London for a few years , but now again (as of 2012) in Sydney. She is a member of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts . Gooley is the mother of two children.

Awards and nominations (selection)

At the 2006 Academy Awards , she and Dave Elsey were nominated for an Oscar for Best Make-up for their work on Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith .

In the same year she received a British Academy Film Award with Howard Berger and Greg Nicotero as well as a Saturn Award for her work on The Chronicles of Narnia .
