Nikolaevsk is a place ( census-designated place ) on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska ( United States ).
history
The settlement was founded in 1968 by Russian Old Believers . The settlement history was described in a 1972 article in National Geographic . In 2000, two thirds of the population still spoke Russian on a daily basis.
