Nikolai Wladimirowitsch Oljalin ( Russian: Николай Владимирович Олялин ; born May 22, 1941 in Opichalino, Vologda Oblast , RSFSR ; † November 17, 2009 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Soviet and Russian actor .

Life

Oljalin was born in 1941 in the village of Opichalino in northwestern Russia. In 1959 he moved to Leningrad and immediately began studying at the Leningrad State Institute for Theater, Music and Cinematography ( ЛГИТМиК ) as a student in Alexander Jahn's course . After graduating from college, he became an actor in the theater for young audiences in Krasnoyarsk . On the stage there he played a variety of one-man plays with several roles for a number of years .

In 1968 Nikolai Oljalin began working in the Dovschenko film studios in Kiev. He made his debut as a film actor in the role of fighter pilot Nikolai Boldyrev in the film " Flugtage " ( "Дни лётные" ). In the same year, director Yuri Oserow invited him to take on one of the leading roles in the epic film " Liberation " ( Освобождение ). This role of the captain Tsvetaev helped Olyalin to fame throughout the Soviet Union and beyond. He has starred in numerous Soviet films since the late 1960s.

In 1990, based on Oljalin's scenario, the melodrama “ Non-shootable Music” ( “Неотстрелянная музыка” ) was created, in which he played one of the main roles himself.

In total, Oljalin starred in about 60 films. In one of his last films he played the inquisitor in the film " Guardian of the day - Dnevnoi Dozor " ( "Дневной дозор" ).

Honors

In 1979, Oljalin was awarded the title “ People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR ”.
