Ernst Kinder (born May 11, 1910 in Barmen ; † December 2, 1970 in Münster ) was a Lutheran theologian and university professor.

Life

From 1935 he was pastor in Munich , from 1937 secretary of the Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany , based in Berlin . After military service and imprisonment, he became professor of systematic theology in Neuendettelsau at the Augustana University in 1947 . From 1953 until his death, Kinder taught as a professor of systematic theology in Münster and stayed there (in the area of the Uniate Westphalian Regional Church ) - as did his faculty colleagues Karl Heinrich Rengstorf ( New Testament ) and Peter Hauptmann ( Church history of Eastern Europe and the history of theology of the Lutheran denominational churches ) - to the old Lutheran congregation.

As a student of Werner Elert , children were theologically committed to a denomination-oriented Lutheranism and were therefore critical of the church and communion fellowship of denominational churches and of women's ordination .
