Nikolaos Georgandas ( Greek Νικόλαος Γεωργαντάς , also Nikolaos Georgantas ; * March 12, 1880 ; † January 23, 1958 ) was a Greek athlete who was successful at the Olympic Games in stone throwing and discus throwing .

At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis a few athletes from Europe competed only relative. Nikolaos Georgandas was disqualified in the shot put for incorrect throwing technique, but was able to take third place in the discus throw with 37.68 meters behind Martin Sheridan and Ralph Rose . The two Americans both threw 39.28 meters, Martin Sheridan prevailed in the jump-off.

At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , Georgandas competed in the discus throw in both the free style and the Greek style . In free style, Martin Sheridan won with 41.46 meters ahead of Georgandas, who came to 38.06 meters. The Finn Verner Järvinen came in third with 36.82 meters.

In the Greek-style discus throw , the disc was thrown from a hill from a standing start to mimic the technique passed down in the famous statue of Diskobolos by the ancient sculptor Myron . Verner Järvinen won this Greek-style competition with 35.17 meters ahead of Georgandas with 32.80 meters.

In stone pushing, a stone weighing 6.4 kg had to be pushed as far as possible by pushing or throwing it with a run-up. Georgandas reached 19.925 meters and won ahead of Martin Sheridan, who came to 19.035 meters.

From the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , only the top placements were retained. Georgandas took part in four throwing competitions, but what is known is only his performance in the Greek style discus throw . Here Georgandas finished sixth again with 33.20 meters. His results are not known in the shot put, "normal" discus throw and javelin throw.
