Nicholas IV (Troppau)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicholas IV of Troppau (Czech: Mikuláš IV. Opavský ; * around 1400 ; † 1437 ) was 1433–1437 Duke of Troppau and lord on Zuckmantel . He came from the Troppau branch of the Bohemian Přemyslids .

Life

His parents were Přemysl / Primislaus I. von Troppau († 1433) and his first wife Anna von Lutz († 1405).

After the death of his father in 1433, who left five sons, the second-born Nicholas IV dubbed Mr. von Zuckmantel. The oldest of the brothers, Wenceslaus II , took over the guardianship of the younger brothers Wilhelm , Ernst and Přemysl / Primislaus II. Although their father determined in his will that his territories should remain unseparated, they shared the inherited property around 1435. Wilhelm and Ernst received shares from Troppau, and the independent Duchy of Leobschütz was spun off for the oldest brother Wenzel II . The youngest of the brothers, Přemysl / Primislaus II., For whom the spiritual career was planned, probably went away empty-handed.

Nicholas IV died in 1437 unmarried and without descendants. The oldest brother Wenceslaus II was probably the heir.
