Nikolaus from and to Sandizell
Nikolaus Graf von und zu Sandizell (born January 20, 1959 in Düsseldorf ) deals with underwater archeology and is chairman of the board of "Arqueonautas Worldwide".
Life
Nikolaus is the eldest son of Carl Hochbrand Graf von und zu Sandizell (* 1924) and his wife Irene nee. Rohrer (1937-2011). Together with his two younger siblings, he grew up in New York City, Düsseldorf and Switzerland. From 1987 to 2010 he was married to Cindy Dewiyanti and married Filipa Veiga de Oliveira in 2012, he has five children. He is co-owner of the Sandizell moated castle near Schrobenhausen.
After a diving vacation in the Caribbean , he founded the public limited company "Arqueonautas Worldwide - Arqueologia Subaquatica, SA" in Portugal in 1994 . The commercial excavation company , consisting of a team of historians , naval archaeologists and restorers , works mainly in developing countries and harbors valuable cargo from historical shipwrecks from the seabed under scientific, cultural, historical and economic aspects . The loads are sold to museums , private collectors and auction houses .
