Nikos Katsavakis ( Greek Νίκος Κατσαβάκης , born May 16, 1979 in Serres , Greece ) is a Greek football player . The defender has been under contract with Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta since 2004 .

Katsavakis began his career in 1996 with the lower-class Veria FC and moved to AO Kavala after one season . Between 2000 and 2002 he played for Panserraikos in the Greek second division and then moved to the Cypriot first division club Digenis Akritas Morphou . In 2004 he joined the top Cypriot club and league competitor Anorthosis Famagusta , with whom he won the national championship in 2005 and 2008 and in 2007 in the Cypriot Cup.

With Famagusta, Katsavakis qualified for the main round of the UEFA Champions League in 2008 . He was used in all six qualifying games against FC Pjunik, Rapid Vienna and Olympiacos Piraeus. In the summer of 2010, he left Anorthosis and joined league rival Apollon Limassol . There he was initially a regular, but was no longer used in the 2011/12 season , so he left the club and returned to his hometown Serres. After two seasons with local clubs, he ended his career in 2014.
