Nils "Nicka" Carlbom (born July 10, 1892 , † September 6, 1960 ) was a Swedish football player . He played an international match for the Swedish national team in 1921 .

Career

Carlbom played for Hammarby IF at least from 1917 to 1923 . For the club he entered both the top division of the time, the Svenska series , and in the national championship, which was held in cup mode before the introduction of the Allsvenskan as a national division in 1924 . There the club was a regular participant in the finals, but Carlbom's team usually failed before the quarter-finals. In 1921 the team failed in the quarterfinals with a 0-1 home defeat at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium at IFK Eskilstuna , but won the district championship after a 3-0 final win against Stockholms BK . The following year Hammarby IF moved into the final in the national championship, but the game was lost in particular thanks to the triple goalscorer Bror Carlsson against the Gothenburg club GAIS with a 1: 3 defeat. Also in the district championship remained after a 3-0 defeat in the final against AIK only the runner-up. The following year he left the club and moved to the United States .

1921 appointed the selection committee of Svenska Fotbollförbundet Carlbom as a selection player in the Swedish national team . In May of that year he made his debut in his home stadium, the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, for his colors in the 3-0 defeat by the Finnish team , when the Swedish federation took ten players from Stockholm district champion Hammarby IF (defender Gustav Ehn from the final opponent Stockholms BK added the Team) on the field.

Nothing is currently known about Carlbom's further life - especially away from the football field.
