Bror Carlsson

Bror "Brollan" Oscar Eugen Carlsson (born June 28, 1897 in Gothenburg , † February 20, 1986 in Gothenburg) was a Swedish football player . The striker , Swedish champion with Gothenburg club GAIS in 1922 , played six international matches for the Swedish national team from 1923 to 1924 .

Career

Carlsson started playing football at IK Virgo. He later played for the Gothenburg club GAIS at least in the 1920s. With the team around Fritjof Hillén , Nils Karlsson and Douglas Krook , he reached the final in 1922 for the Svenska Mästerskapet, which was held in cup mode before the introduction of the Allsvenskan as a national league with the season 1924/25 . In the 3-1 win over the Stockholm club Hammarby IF , he scored all three goals for his team. Three years later, the club was one of the founding members of the new league, since the championship title was not initially awarded there, it remained despite a first place in the debut season without another title. In 1926 he left the club and stayed with local rivals Örgryte IS next to Sven Rydell and Carl-Erik Holmberg a regular goalscorer, where he ran up at least until the end of the 1920s.

1923 appointed the selection committee of Svenska Fotbollförbundet Carlsson as a selection player in the Swedish national team . In June of that year he made his debut for his colors in a 5: 4 success over the Finnish national team , where he scored the goal for the interim 3: 2 lead. By the following year he played a total of six international matches, scoring a total of two goals.

Nothing is currently known about Carlsson's further life - especially away from the football field.
