Nils Holger Kretschmer (born January 18, 1993 in Lübeck ) is a German handball player . He plays on the back space on the left in the 2nd Bundesliga at HC Elbflorenz .
Career
Kretschmer started playing handball at NTSV Strand 08 in 1997 . After playing for two years at Lübeck in 1876 , the backcourt player moved to SC Magdeburg in 2008 , where he played in the B and A youth. In 2011 Kretschmer moved to VfL Bad Schwartau . In the 2011/12 season, Kretschmer played with VfL's A-youth team in the youth Bundesliga and was also a member of the men's team, for which he scored seven goals in 21 second division games. In July 2012 he signed a contract with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. With the Rhein-Neckar Löwen he won the EHF Europe Cup 2012/13 . He then switched to TV Großwallstadt . After Kretschmer played 47 games for Großwallstadt, he moved to league competitor TV Bittenfeld in December 2014. For the 2015/16 season he moved to third division club HC Elbflorenz . With HC Elbflorenz, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2017.
Kretschmer is a member of the German junior national team.
Private
His father Holger used to play handball in the Bundesliga. His younger brother Finn is a member of the VfL Lübeck-Schwartau squad. In 2011 Nils did his Abitur at the sports boarding school in Magdeburg.
