Nils Mittmann (born April 10, 1979 in Braunschweig ) is a German basketball player . He is 2.01 m tall, weighs 92 kg and plays on the wing position.

career

Mittmann was discovered by Liviu Călin at the age of 15 at a tournament in the Braunschweig Christophorus School Braunschweig . Călin placed great emphasis on technical training, without the work with the Romanian trainer he would not have made it into professional business, Mittmann said later. The coach certified that his protégés had good athleticism, hard work and a positive attitude towards life. In 1998 he made the first team at SG Braunschweig (later Met @ box Braunschweig). However, he did not receive more than short appearances in the Braunschweig Bundesliga team. In 2001 he moved to SSV ratiopharm Ulm and two years later to Würzburg . After the descent of Würzburg, he moved to EnBW Ludwigsburg in 2005 .

After three years in Ludwigsburg , Mittmann returned to his old place of work for the 2008/2009 season, the Braunschweig team, now known as the New York Phantoms. There the 29-year-old signed a contract until 2010 with an option for another season. In 2011 he extended his contract for two years until the end of the 2012/13 season.

After five years in Braunschweig, Mittmann switched to the Walter Tigers Tübingen . Since he moved his family seat to Ulm and thus his wife's hometown in the summer of 2012 , at the beginning of the 2014/2015 season he switched to the cooperation partner Weißenhorn Youngstars of the Bundesliga club Ratiopharm ulm in the 2nd Bundesliga Pro B and became an experienced leader of a team there numerous talents. As captain, he made a significant contribution to winning the ProB championship title in 2017. The trained sports manager first worked full-time for a digital agency and then in sales for the Bundesliga club Ulm from 2019.
