Nils Marius Thomas (born July 9, 1889 in Oslo ; † November 13, 1979 there ) was a Norwegian sailor .
successes
Nils Thomas, member of the Kongelig Norsk Seilforening , won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 in the 8-meter class according to the International Rule of 1919. In three races with the Lyn he always finished behind the second Norwegian boat Sildra and in front of the Belgian boat Antwerpia V in second place, which is why the Lyn finished the regatta in second place. In addition to skipper Jens Salvesen , the crew also included Finn Schiander , Lauritz Schmidt and Ralph Tschudi .
Thomas worked at sea for several years before returning to Oslo in 1914 and becoming the ship owner. He was married three times.
