Ulrike Schäfer

Ulrike Schäfer (* 1965 in Munich ) is a German writer .

Education and professional life

Ulrike Schäfer grew up in Schweinfurt and has lived in Würzburg since 1985 . There she studied German , philosophy and computer science . She was also a lecturer in linguistics and German as a foreign language at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . After all, she worked as a software consultant.

Writer and performer

Today Schäfer is a freelance writer , but she also works as a web designer . She writes prose , plays and poetry . Two of her plays have already premiered at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg : in 2015 the stage version by Leonhard Frank : Die Jünger Jesu and in 2016 the musical play A Widder with Wings .

Schäfer is happy to present her texts at readings and also in interaction with others. She appears with the liTrio group of authors, at the reading stage Großraumdichten & Kleinstadtgeschichten, as well as with musicians like jazz guitarist Philipp Schiepek .

Since her scholarship at the Writer's House in Stuttgart, Schäfer has been running writing workshops there on a regular basis.
