Tuebingen poetics lectureship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tuebingen Poetics Lecturer was launched in 1996 by the Würth Foundation and has since been organized at the German Seminar of the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .

The Tübingen Poetics Lecturer sees itself as a forum for cultural encounters . Students, lecturers, university members and the general public from Tübingen and the surrounding area have the opportunity to get to know outstanding authors from home and abroad and to talk to them. In doing so, it repeatedly initiates and intensifies the intra-university dialogue across subject boundaries and also invites you to cultural exchange between university and city, university and region. From 1996 to 2004 Jürgen Wertheimer headed the Tübingen poetics lectureship. It has taken place once a year since 2005 and is directed by Dorothee Kimmich .

procedure

Once a year, generally in November / December, two authors are invited to give lectures and offer courses for university students. Depending on the instructor's specifications, these courses can be seminars or practical courses in the sense of a writing workshop . At the end of the poetics lectures, there is a panel discussion to which other authors can be invited who are thematically or personally connected to the respective lecturer. The Würth Literature Prize is awarded annually on the occasion of the Tübingen poetry lectureship .
