Christoph Peters
Christoph Peters (born October 11, 1966 in Kalkar ) is a German writer .
Life
Christoph Peters was a student at the Catholic boarding high school Collegium Augustinianum Gaesdonck from 1977 to 1986 , where Franz Joseph van der Grinten was one of his teachers. Peters then studied painting from 1988 to 1994 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe , among others with Horst Egon Kalinowski and Günter Neusel , most recently as a master student of Meuser . From 1995 to 2000 he worked as a passenger controller at Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport.
Peters was based in Mainz until 2000 and has lived in Berlin ever since . He has a daughter (* 2003) with his wife, the writer Veronika Peters . His novel Das Tuch aus Nacht (2003) has been translated into American and Chinese.
The setting of his novel Wir in Kahlenbeck (2012) is a Catholic boarding school for boys near the border with the Netherlands.
Peters is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
