Arata Takeda
Arata Takeda (Japanese 武田 新, born June 15, 1972 in Ueno , Japan ) is a literary and cultural scholar of Japanese origin who is known, among other things, for his work on the phenomenon of the suicide bombing and transcultural education .
Career
Takeda, son of the Japanese theologian Takehisa Takeda, moved with his parents and siblings from Japan to Germany at the age of three and grew up in Mainz , Munich and Berlin . After completing his university entrance qualification in Japan and a Bachelor in Humanities at the International Christian University , he studied German , Romance and comparative literature at the University of Tübingen from 1997 to 2003 and German and comparative literature at the University of Venice in 2001/2002 . He received his doctorate in 2008 from the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on the cultural history of the suicide bombing , for which he was awarded the University of Tübingen's doctoral prize in 2009.
2011 Takeda was one of Alexander Kluge known about his thesis led him interview first in the feature pages of the world printed and later in the Sat.1 telecast News & Stories aired.
From 2008 to 2011 Takeda researched and taught at the University of Tübingen. In the 2011/2012 winter semester he worked at the International Research Center for Cultural Studies in Vienna , from 2012 to 2014 at the University of Chicago and in 2014/2015 at the University of Paderborn . Since 2015 he has been working at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School for Literary Studies at the Free University of Berlin .
Takeda has received a number of grants and grants, including the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship , the Friedrich Naumann Foundation PhD Scholarship , the Research Fellowship from the International Research Center for Cultural Studies, the Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation , the William M. Calder III Fellowship from the American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and individual funding from the German Research Foundation .
Takeda is a member of the International Committee of the Society for Intercultural German Studies and the Council for Migration .
research
Takeda's research and teaching activities focus on the areas of intercultural hermeneutics , narrative theory (including editor's fiction ), drama history and drama theory , the theory of literary translation , literary anthropology and transcultural education . In addition to his dissertation, his investigation into the history of the origin of the fable of the scorpion and the frog and his suggestions for promoting transcultural education both within and outside of the academic community attracted attention.
