Nina Omilian (formerly: Nina Bubach) (born October 17, 1975 in Stuttgart ) is a German singer, actress and playwright.

biography

Nina Omilian studied classical singing at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts , at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Robert Schumann Music Academy in Düsseldorf, where she graduated in 2003. She had previously received grants from the Italian Cultural Institute Dante Alighieri, Rome, the Richard Wagner Foundation and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp , Michigan, USA.

Before graduating, in 2001 she was engaged as a soloist (lyric soprano) at the Oldenburg State Theater and at the same time at the open-air theater in Tecklenburg . Nina Omilian has been a freelance singer and actress since 2004. She sang recitals in the Berliner Philharmonie with the Berliner Symphoniker , with the Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen and the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra. In 2008 she switched from soprano to mezzo .

In 2007 she made her debut as a playwright with the play His portrait miraculously - Clara Schumann and the memory , which premiered during the Robert Schumann Festival 2007 in Leipzig. In autumn 2014 Omilian released her first solo album "PURE" with cover versions of famous colleagues from the singer-songwriter genre such as Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian, Kate Bush, Randy Newman and others. In 2015 she released the single Meerwärts , an accompanying song for the Symphonic poem Die Havel by the composer Marian Lux, for whom she wrote the text. In 2016, Herzoffen was the first volume of poems that Martin Keune designed and illustrated with photographs.

In 2017, Omilian's musical theater piece “His Portrait Wondrous - Clara Schumann and Memory” was performed in German on April 6th in the Mala scena theater in Bratislava and on May 25th in the Kamienica theater in Warsaw, with Omilian in the role of Clara Schumann and Teresa Hoerl as a reminder. These engagements were offered to the embassies through the cultural program of the German Foreign Ministry. On August 15th, the Villa Wahnfried in Bayreuth, as part of the Bayreuth Festival, added the piece to its program.

In 2018 she wrote the musical reading “Briefe” together with the author Juli Zeh . The program premiered in May 2018 with Juli Zeh, Nina Omilian and the pianist Marian Lux in the Konzerthaus in Vienna. The German premiere took place in November 2018 in Rathenow / Havelland, the adopted home of the two authors. The role of Juli Zeh was taken over by the actress Kassandra Knebel. SWR2 produced this essay with the protagonists of the premiere as a radio play under the title: “The chicken on the potato. Or: On the Right to Happiness. ”, Which was broadcast on December 24, 2018.

At the beginning of 2019, the broadcaster SWR2 commissioned her to write another essay. The report was broadcast on April 22, 2019 under the title “You have to be light ... Lessons in humility”. Here, too, Omilian sang cover songs and his own compositions / texts to accompany the essay.

In 2013, Nina Omilian was appointed cultural ambassador for the 2015 Federal Horticultural Show . Since 2016 she has also been the nature park ambassador for the Westhavelland nature park.
