Nina Rodrigues
Raymundo Nina Rodrigues (born December 4, 1862 in Vargem Grande , † July 17, 1906 in Paris ) was a Brazilian coroner , psychiatrist and anthropologist .
Life
Nina Rodrigues was influenced by Cesare Lombroso's criminal anthropology and thus by sociological positivism . He introduced anthropometry and phrenology to Brazil.
His best-known work is Os Africanos no Brasil , written between 1890 and 1905 and published only in 1932 (posthumously) , a racist work in favor of the immigration of whites in Brazil.
A forensic medicine institute in Bahia is named after him.
