Ninh Bình is the capital of the province of the same name Ninh Bình in northern Vietnam . The city is located in the heart of the province, 93 kilometers south of Hanoi . Adjacent are the districts of Hoa Lư (north, west and south), Yên Khánh (southeast) and in Yên in the province of Nam Định (northeast).

In the area there are natural landscapes, well-known mountains such as the Non Nước or the Ngọc Mỹ Nhân , cultural-historical relics and caves such as the Thai-Vi temple, Tam-Coc ("Three Caves") , the Bich-Dong Pagoda ( "Green Cave") , the Sorceress Cave and the Linh Coc Pagoda.
