Services

Nirmal Purja is the 39th person who climbed all 14 eight-thousanders . He achieved this between April and October 2019 in a radically new record time of 189 days (6 months and 6 days), but also using at least one transfer from base camp to base camp by helicopter.

From April 23 to May 24, 2019, Nims completed the first phase of his "Project Possible 14/7" with the ascent of the first six peaks of the 14 eight-thousanders that he wanted to conquer within seven months: Annapurna , Dhaulagiri , Kanchenjunga , Lhotse , Makalu and Mount Everest .

Nims finished the second phase in July 2019 and climbed Nanga Parbat (8125 m, Pakistan , July 3, 2019), Gasherbrum I (8080 m, Pakistan, July 15, 2019), Gasherbrum II (8034 m, Pakistan, July 18, 2019), K2 (8611 m, Pakistan, July 24, 2019) and Broad Peak (8051 m, Pakistan, July 26, 2019).

The third and final phase began in September 2019. On September 23, 2019, he climbed Cho Oyu (8188 m, Tibet , China ), then Manaslu (8163 m, Nepal, September 27, 2019) as the 13th eight-thousander. To reach his goal of climbing all eight-thousanders, he still lacked the Shishapangma (8027 m, Tibet, China). This mountain, which lies entirely on Sino-Tibetan territory, could have become a problem, as the Chinese authorities had announced that all tourists would have to leave Tibet by October 1, 2019. Nims was successful, however, and with the help of the Nepalese government was able to convince the Chinese authorities to grant an exemption for him. On October 29, 2019, he successfully completed his project by climbing Shishapangma.
