Nixon Now is a rock band from Hamburg . They were founded in 1997 and are based on Detroit rock bands like The Stooges or MC5 . In this genre, which also includes bands like The Bellrays or Dollhouse and which is also known as High Energy Rock, they are among the world's leading formations. The American rock critic Kevin McHugh writes: "If anyone could equal the MC5 and Stooges at their insane best, it's Nixon Now." Their music is also quite popular in the stoner rock scene, so the band played in the Swamp Room or at South Of Mainstream Festival and their second album Altamont Nation Express was released on the stoner rock label Elektrohasch . Nixon Now have released three albums and numerous singles so far and played with bands such as Thee Hypnotics , The Bellrays , Radio Birdman and The Flaming Sideburns .
