According to the general dictionary of artists published by Johann Rudolf Füssli in 1779 ... the engraver, known under the name of N. Serault, was "around 1674" in the heyday of his work:
- "Anno 1674" dates the Baroque engraving by Serault in the portrait collection of the Herzog-August-Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel with a portrait of the composer and musician Clamor Heinrich Abel .
- An engraving by Serault with a half-length portrait of Duke Johann Friedrich von Braunschweig-Calenberg , which the Bibliothèque nationale de France included in its collection of portrait graphics at the beginning of the 20th century, dated 1676 .
