Nolina azureogladiata is a species of the genus Nolina in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). An English common name is "Blue Leaf Nolina".

description

Nolina azureogladiata forms a trunk with heights of up to 3 meters. The variable, soft, blue falling leaves are up to 130 centimeters long and 40 millimeters wide.

The erect, branched, inflorescence is over 3 meters high. The white flowers are 4 to 8 millimeters long and in diameter. When ripe, the woody, pressed capsule fruits are 8 to 12 millimeters long and 5 to 8 millimeters wide. The brown seeds are spherical with a diameter of 3 to 4 millimeters.

Nolina azureogladiata is another species of the Arborescentes section . It resembles Nolina longifolia in habit . Characteristic are the blue leaves with the inflorescence over 3 meters high in contrast to Nolina longifolia .

Distribution and systematics

Nolina azureogladiata is common in Mexico in the state of Oaxaca at altitudes of 1800 to 2400 meters in woodland. It is associated with Agave potatorum and Mammillaria species.
