NoordNed Personenvervoer BV was a private train and bus company in the Netherlands . It was a subsidiary of Arriva Personenvervoer Nederland (50%), NS (49.9%) and ABN AMRO (0.1%). In December 2003 it was then taken over by Arriva in full and integrated into the company at the beginning of 2006.
NoordNed operated the following railway lines:
- Groningen - Delfzijl
- Groningen - Leeuwarden
- Groningen - Nieuweschans ( railway line Leer - Groningen )
- Groningen - Roodeschool
- Leeuwarden - Harlingen
- Leeuwarden - Stavoren
NoordNed sat on the railway lines of the Dutch Railways ( Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS)) acquired diesel - railcar one, especially the types of DM 90 (Buffel) and Wadloper . These are diesel-hydraulically powered railcars. In 2005 NoordNed ordered 43 Stadler GTW multiple units. So that all were Buffel and Wadloper replaced.
Bus routes were operated in the provinces of Groningen and Fryslân .
