Nora Schattauer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nora Schattauer (born February 5, 1952 in Duisburg ) is a German painter and draftsman .

Life

Schattauer completed a sociology degree from 1970 to 1977 at the University of Cologne . From 1991 to 1997 she studied at the Art Academy in Münster with Joachim Bandau , where she graduated as a master class student with an academy certificate.

After working mainly with amorphous materials such as wax and rubber in plastic and pictorial form until 1998, she has since created a painterly work and blind drawings (print through carbon paper). The colored paper works are based on an innovative technique with mineral salt solutions, which deal with questions of development, delimitation and interactions. “Your works are indeed unseen, really new images. The forces inherent in the materials used change the simple patterns that Nora Schattauer started from. ”(Quote from Kay Heymer, Museum Kunstpalast). In 2010 she founded the monographic series DRAW as editor , in which she presents artists in loose succession who broaden the perspective of “drawing” in different ways.

Schattauer has been a member of the German Association of Artists since 2005 . She lives and works in Cologne.
