Norbert Berthold

Norbert Berthold (born September 11, 1952 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German professor of economics , in particular economic system and social policy, at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.

Life

After studying economics at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg from 1973 to 1977, Norbert Berthold worked from 1978 to 1980 as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Finance at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , where he received his PhD in 1980. rer. pole. received his doctorate. After his habilitation in 1986, Norbert Berthold was appointed to the University of Hamburg in 1987 , where he held a professorship for economics until 1990. Since 1990 he has been professor of economics at the University of Würzburg. From 1995 to 1997 he was also Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Würzburg. Since 1995 Norbert Berthold has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology . Since 1999, Norbert Berthold has been a module leader in the Executive MBA course at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. Berthold is the initiator of the regulatory blog Wirtschaftliche Freiheit , co-editor of the ORDO - Yearbook for the Order of Economy and Society and on the scientific advisory board of the economic policy journal Wirtschaftsdienst .

Berthold was one of the signatories of the Euro-critical manifesto The Monetary Policy Decisions of Maastricht: A Danger for Europe (1992) and the Hamburg Appeal (2005).

He was the regular author of the community blog Die Freie Welt, run by AfD politicians Beatrix and Sven von Storch . In 2018 he is still in the imprint as a blogger.
