Norbert Grundei (born July 15, 1973 in Buchholz in the Nordheide ) is a German journalist and media manager .

After graduating from high school, he worked as a writer for an advertising agency. In 1994 he came to N-Joy , the youth program of the North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR) , as a freelancer .

In 1997 he was employed as an editor at NDR and worked in program planning, layout editing and as director and moderator of the “N-JOY Morningshow”.

Since January 2002 he has been head of programs at N-Joy. At NDR he also heads the think tank Think Radio for the future of radio in the digital world. He was involved in the conception of funk and is one of two representatives of the NDR for the new offer from ARD and ZDF . He is also a member of the advisory board of the Hamburg Media School's Digital Journalism Fellowship .

The science podcastCoronavirus Update ” with the head of virology at the Berlin Charité , Christian Drosten , who gained great popularity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, was created on Grundi's initiative .

Awards

In 2016, Grundei received the German Radio Prize on behalf of N-Joy together with seven other Hamburg radio stations for an alliance against xenophobia, and in 2018, together with Mirko Marquardt, the German Radio Prize in the category “Best Innovation” with the N-JOY Night Lab .
