Norbert Jung

Norbert Jung (born December 3, 1967 in Bamberg ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman and cathedral chapter in the Archdiocese of Bamberg .

Life

Jung studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Universities of Eichstätt , Bamberg and Mexico City . With a thesis on Andreas Seelmann , auxiliary bishop in Speyer , he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD. In 2001 he was ordained a priest by the Archbishop of Bamberg, Karl Braun . He was chaplain in Herzogenaurach and parish administrator in Uffenheim , Hemmersheim , Herbolzheim and Rodheim .

In 2006 he became the personal advisor to Archbishop Ludwig Schick . In 2010, Jung became head of the art and culture department in the Bamberg ordinariate. He is also head of the department for the orders of the Archdiocese of Bamberg and theological advisor to the church newspaper Heinrichsblatt as well as a subsidiar in the Burgebrach parish community. On December 13th, 2011 he was elected to the cathedral capitular of Bamberg Cathedral , since 2012 as Summus Custos - supreme guardian - of the cathedral church.
