Norbert Nischkauer

Norbert Nischkauer (born December 24, 1941 in Vienna ; † October 26, 2011 there ) was an Austrian functionary in the energy sector, trade unionist and operetta researcher.

Norbert Nischkauer worked professionally at Verbund AG . He was elected chairman of the central works council in 1974 and vice-chairman of the supervisory board in 1978. From 1993 to 2001 he was a member of the Federal Presidium of the Union of Private Employees . From 1993 he led the collective agreement negotiations for the employees in the energy supply companies. Since 2001 he has been chairman of the energy sector.

His commitment as a researcher in the field of upscale light music in Vienna was of particular importance. With his lifelong collecting activity in this field, he created an extensive archive, in particular of sheet music from Viennese operetta composers. In 2001, Nischkauer founded the Vienna International Operetta Society , whose aim is to promote and cultivate the art genre of the operetta and to arouse or promote interest in international operetta in all circles of the population . He often made sheet music from his private collection available and was in contact with musicians and conductors, such as B. Christian Pollack and Ernst Märzendorfer . He regularly gave concerts in Vienna with an amateur orchestra, the “Musikverein Symphonia”.

His archive is now in Traismauer Castle . With the support of the State of Lower Austria, Lower Austria Culture and the municipality of Traismauer, this archive is now being continued as a museum. Nischkauer has worked on catalog raisonnés of various composers.
