Norbert Rücker

Norbert Rücker (born May 27, 1936 in Hirschberg ; † June 21, 2016 in Fulda ) was a German lawyer and local politician for the CDU .

Life

Norbert Rücker was born in Hirschberg in what was then the province of Lower Silesia . After the Second World War, he and his family were expellees . He attended school and then university in Frankfurt and Munich. At the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main he received his doctorate in law in 1965 .

From 1971 to 1991 he was legal advisor for the city administration in Fulda. During this time, the administration was reorganized following the regional reform in Hesse . After reunification , in 1991 he moved to the Weimar City Administration as a full-time alderman for the areas of law and the environment . In 1995 he left this again and then worked as a freelance lawyer.

Rücker was a voluntary member of the district council in the Fulda district from 1974 to 1991 . From 2001 to 2006 he was a member of the local council. He was a member of the CDU parliamentary group. He was honored by the party in 2016 for 55 years of membership.

Norbert Rücker was chairman of the prevention council of the city of Fulda and legal advisor of the DRK district association Fulda for over 15 years .

In 2014 he was awarded the City of Fulda Medal of Honor in Gold .

A few weeks before his death, he was committed to helping young refugees and migrants .

He died a few days after his 80th birthday after a brief serious illness. Norbert Rücker leaves behind his wife and two adult children and three grandchildren.
